-We are out of tissues again! If you wouldn't mind sending us a box, we would be very grateful!
-Our second field trip is planned for Wednesday, April 26th. We will be walking next door to the Butler Tech farm. This is a FREE field trip, but permission is still required. A permission slip went home before the break. Please return it ASAP. If you would like to chaperone, please indicate it on the permission slip. There is no chaperone limit this time!
-Moms, mark your calendars for 2:30 on Thursday, May 11th! Our annual Mother's Day Poet-Tea will be that afternoon. It's a special event you won't want to miss. More information will be coming as we draw closer to the date!
This week we will be learning...
Math: We will be doing some review practice on how to count money and make change.
Word Study: We will be studying prefixes, suffixes, and root words.
Reading: We are beginning my favorite read aloud of the year: The One and Only Ivan. As we read this heartwarming story about a gorilla, we will be practicing our deep thinking and inferring skills. We will also see what connections we can make to Charlotte's Web, as the two stories share some striking similarities.
Writing: Poetry continues! We will spend time this week learning about the author's craft of alliteration while we continue to draft poems and prepare for the Poet-Tea!
Social Studies: In honor of Earth Day, we will be learning about ways to take care of our planet.
Our poem for the week is called "Bubbles."
Have a wonderful week!
