-Spring break starts at the end of this week! There is NO SCHOOL for students Friday, April 3 through Sunday, April 12. Monday, April 13th is our first day back from break.
-There will be NO HOMEWORK assigned over the break!
-Our field trip is on Thursday, April 16th! We will be traveling to the Children's Theatre of Cincinnati to see a performance of Disney's Aladdin! Please plan for your child to pack his/her lunch on this day. More detailed information will be coming soon!
This week we will be learning...
Math: We will be working on different strategies for subtracting larger numbers.
Reading: We will be wrapping up our study of Cinderella stories and spending some time reviewing nonfiction text features, especially diagrams, maps, timelines, and graphs.
Writing: We will be revising, editing, and publishing our persuasive pieces. All students will have at least one final piece of persuasive writing completed by the end of the week. Watch out!... Many students have written to you in hopes of gaining or changing something, and they have become awfully good at being persuasive!
Word Study: Our fifteen words to focus on this week will be: pretty, coming, here, some, should, don't, of, friend, said, have, does, would, when, house, where
Science/Social Studies: We will be looking closely at how graphs are used to represent information in science and/or social studies formats.
Poetry: Our poem for the week is called, "Windshield Wipers."
Have a wonderful week and a safe, relaxing spring break!
