This week we will be learning...
Word Study: Our spelling patterns for the week are thr and shr. Our sight words are: warm, ate, full, those, done.
Math: This week we will continue developing strategies for solving problems with multiple addends. We will practice using combinations we know (i.e. 2+4=6), looking for combinations that make ten (i.e. 7+3=10), looking for doubles (i.e. 8+8=16), and looking for near doubles (i.e. If 8+8=16, then 8+7 must = 15.) to help us solve more challenging problems.
Reading: Our study of nonfiction begins as we explore some nonfiction texts and look closely at nonfiction text features and how they can add to and help us understand what we're reading.
Writing: Students will complete their How-To procedures this week by working to revise, edit, and publish them!
Science: Now that we understand how clouds form, we will be learning about the different types of clouds and the weather conditions which help to create them. Weather permitting, we will also be going outside to observe and document the clouds.
Poetry: Our poem this week is called "The Fieldmouse."
Have a spooktacular week!
