-Report cards will be sent home this Friday. Please remember to remove the report card from the envelope, sign the envelope, and return it to school so it can be reused.
-This Friday is our day to shop at the Scholastic Book Fair. Students who want to buy books will need to bring their money that day.
-Our field trip to La Comedia is next week on Tuesday, March 21st. More information will be coming home soon!

Math: Our study of graphs continues! This week we will be learning how to interpret bar graphs.

Reading: This week we will be digging deeply into comprehension through a variety of close reading activities. We will begin with photographs to see what we notice when we look carefully, and we will progress to doing this with text.
Writing: Last week, we wrapped up persuasive writing. Be looking for published pieces to come home! This also means we're ready to move on to our final writing unit of the year: Poetry! We will be exploring many different kinds of poetry and experimenting with ways to use figurative language in the creation of our own poems. This all leads up to the Poet-Tea in May! This special Mother's Day celebration will be held the afternoon of Thursday, May 11th. More information to come!
Science: Our study of force and motion continues! This week, we will be exploring friction and how it affects motion by conducting an experiment inspired by the children's book Sheep in a Jeep!
Poetry: Our poem for the week is called, "Windshield Wipers."
